"Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week, Kylie was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer," her touring company, Frontier Touring, said in a statement. "She will undergo immediate treatment and consequently her Australian tour will not be able to proceed as planned."
The 36-year-old was to begin the 20-date Australian leg of her worldwide tour in Sydney Thursday, the BBC said.
Meanwhile, London's Evening Standard reported Elton John had tracked down Minogue's personal phone number in Melbourne to give her his best wishes "on behalf of Great Britain."
Minogue is immensely popular in Britain and has had 37 hit singles there.
