Boston-born Mark Wahlberg, actor and former rapper, is teaming with incarcerated rapper Shyne on a documentary about their lives, MTV.com said Wednesday.

The film, which is not yet named, follows Wahlberg as he talks with Shyne and his fellow inmates at New York state's Clinton Correctional Facility. Shyne, whose real name is Jamal Barrow, was sentenced in 2001 to 10 years in prison for a 1999 shooting at a New York Club.
Wahlberg himself has some experience in prison: At age 16 he was tried as an adult and incarcerated.
The documentary is set to be released theatrically next summer along with Shyne's third album, which includes production from Kanye West, Just Blaze and the Alchemist.
