Showtime President of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt denied the series a third season and is exploring his options among a new crop of pilots including the terrorist drama "The Cell" and the cop drama "Hate."

The quirky "Dead" series, starring Mandy Patinkin and Ellen Muth, drew rave reviews and good ratings in its first season but did not do as well this year.
