"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker was safe in her limousine when her driver and a New York pedestrian got into a heated, pizza-throwing dispute.

The Manhattan face-off began last Thursday when the limo's side mirror clipped the pizza-filled hands of a man, who hurled them at the car, the New York Post reported.

The driver stopped the limo, jumped out and two men engaged in heated words. They tossed the pizza at each other and then "started laughing at each other in a strange fashion" and left, photographer Philip Vaughan told the newspaper.

Parker, currently shooting in Los Angeles on her new movie, "The Family Stone," stayed in the limo for the entire altercation.
