Publicist Joseph Carozza also said the hip-hop artist's family asked for privacy and expressed gratitude for the prayers and support from Kingston's fans, WFOR-TV, Miami, reported.
The 21-year-old "Beautiful Girls" singer and a female passenger were injured Sunday when their watercraft struck the Palm Island Bridge. Another person rescued Kingston and his companion from the water.
Good Samaritan John Rivera was on a boat near the bridge and saw Kingston underwater after the accident, WFOR said.
"I went behind Kingston, put my arms around his back, I just held his body out of the water," said Rivera, who said he kept Kingston and the woman afloat until help arrived.
Tennis player Serena Williams visited with Kingston most of Monday afternoon.
"Just continue to pray for ... my little buddy," Williams said.
Kingston recently toured with pop singer Justin Bieber, who posted on his Twitter page Monday, "Got my friend Sean Kingston in my prayers tonight. A true friend and big bro. Please keep him in your prayers tonight as well."
