Britain's Scotland Yard says it is investigating why documents relating to the death of singer Amy Winehouse went to the wrong address.

The report detailing Winehouse's death earlier this year was supposed to go to her family but it ended up in the hands of a stranger who turned it over to police Friday night, The Independent reported Wednesday.
"Police were informed that material relating to a forthcoming inquest may have been delivered to an incorrect address. Inquiries are now under way to establish the full circumstances of this matter," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
An inquest into the 27-year-old singer's death is to reopen this week.
