Scarlett Johansson says reports she's dating Sean Penn are not true

Scarlett Johansson's publicist says the U.S. actress is not dating actor-director Sean Penn, despite reports claiming she is.

Johansson, 26, recently separated from her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, 34.

Penn, 50, and his wife, Robin Wright, 44, finalized their divorce last year. They had been a couple since 1989.

"Scarlett and Sean are not dating -- they have been friends for years. Nothing more, nothing less," Johansson's representative told People.com Thursday.

"They have been talking over the last few months regarding Haiti Relief and Scarlett's upcoming trip to Haiti as Oxfam's global ambassador."
