"The Roommate" led the box office with an anemic $15.6 million gross on the worst Super Bowl weekend for U.S. movie theaters in 15 years.

With 84 percent of its take coming from 3-D screenings, including 17 percent from IMAX venues, the cave thriller "Sanctum" came in second with an estimated $9.2 million, Box Office Mojo reported.
"No Strings Attached" held third place with $8.4 million, becoming Natalie Portman's third lead role to top $50 million -- following "V for Vendetta" and "Black Swan" -- and the sixth for Ashton Kutcher.
"The King's Speech" fell in earnings but rose to fourth place with $8.3 million.
Trailing, in order, were "The Green Hornet," $6.1 million; "The Rite," $5.6 million; "The Mechanic," $5.4 million; "True Grit," $4.8 million; "The Dilemma," $3.4 million; "Black Swan" $3.4 million; "The Fighter," $2.9 million, and "Yogi Bear," $2.3 million.
