Rod Stewart has signed to play eight shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November, the Las Vegas venue confirmed.

Tickets are to go on sale Saturday for the shows, which will follow the 65-year-old rocker's successful summer tour.

"For some years now, AEG Live has been wanting me to do a residency show in Vegas. I decided it was time to give it a try but I thought, 'First, let's try two weeks instead of two years, though,'" Stewart said in a statement.

"Who knows what this could lead to? I know that my band, background singers and I are going to enjoy performing in such an intimate setting and having the chance for the fans to be in close proximity while hearing all the hits."

Dates for the limited engagement are Nov. 6, 7, 10, 14, 17, 18, 20 and 21.
