Ricky Martin is booked to appear for the first time on "The View" in New York, ABC announced.

Martin is to be a guest on Wednesday's edition of the chat show.

"View" co-host Barbara Walters previously interviewed him in 2000 for her "Barbara Walters Special," during which she asked him about his sexuality.

She later admitted she felt the question "was inappropriate."

Martin confirmed he is gay last March.

"Walters and her fellow co-hosts will speak candidly with Martin about his autobiographical book, 'Me,' in which he details his life, career and his journey to officially come out," ABC said in a news release.
