Although its fourth-season finale seemed to present the show's future as somewhat uncertain, TLC's top-rated Jon & Kate Plus 8 docu-reality series will reportedly be returning for a fifth season.

TLC is expected to announce the fifth season of Jon & Kate Plus 8, which stars Jon and Kate Gosselin along with their eight children, sometime the next week, the New York Post reported Friday.

Jon & Kate Plus 8's fourth-season finale -- which aired on Monday at 9:30PM ET/PT and drew a series record 4.6 million viewers -- featured Jon openly speculating whether or not he wanted to continue with the show for future seasons.

"Maybe we'll be back, maybe we won't," he said on the finale, according to the Post.

"It's hard being on this side of the camera... and trying to live your life, and people see your life as episodes, and you see it as a date on the calendar," the 31-year-old stay-at-home dad said.

"It's tough. I can't be 'Jon.' I have to be 'Jon & Kate Plus 8,' which is a real hard thing for me and I still haven't come to grips with it."

According to the Post, Jon's comments were filmed on the same day that tabloids began reporting an alleged February incident in which Jon was seen partying with college girls at a bar located hours away from their house.

The incident allegedly occurred on February 6 when Jon was at Mimi's martini bar in Huntington, PA, which is located three hours away from the new $1.3 million home he and his family recently bought.

While at the bar, he reportedly met some girls from Juniata College -- who subsequently invited him to a house party where he played beer pong.

The evening out reportedly continued at Memories Sports Bar & Grill, where Jon allegedly continued drinking and flirting with the college girls.

"He was dirty dancing with several of them, making out, kissing them on their necks and mouths," an eyewitness previously told Star magazine. "I thought it was rather surprising for a father with his wife and so many kids at home to be acting like this. He was all over one girl, a long-haired blonde who's nearly 6-feet-tall. He left with several of the girls, including her."

Although Jon later denied that his marriage was on the rocks and called the reports "rumors and lies," a source told the Post that the couple has recently been trying to heal their relationship.

"They're working on it," the source told the Post. "After the finale, they spent some time alone -- without the kids."
