"Saturday Night Live" head writer and Weekend Update anchor Tina Fey may not return with the NBC comedy show next season, it was reported Wednesday.

An "SNL" spokesman told Wednesday's New York Post that Fey has not yet signed a contract with the late night sketch comedy show and may instead choose to focus on her sitcom, "30 Rock," which debuts on the Peacock Network in the fall.
Fey created the show and will serve as its writer, executive producer and co-star, the Post noted. Also starring are Alec Baldwin along with a couple of familiar "SNL" faces -- Tracy Morgan and Rachel Dratch.
Fey bowed on "SNL" in 1997 and became its first female head writer in 1999.
