ABC is apparently trying to capitalize on The Dark Knight's current theatrical success by casting Batman for Dancing with the Stars.

Adam West -- who played the role of Batman in the campy 1960s television series -- is being considered as a Dancing with the Stars seventh-season celebrity participant, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

"[He is] not definite yet, but is one of the people they are seriously looking at," a rep for West told the Post.

Should the 79-year-old actually appear on Dancing with the Stars, he would easily be the show's oldest participant ever -- besting actor George Hamilton, who was 66-years-old when he competed during the Winter 2006 second season.

"Adam is in outstanding shape," a source told the Post. "He works out an hour a day and walks with his big dog on his farm in Sun Valley, Idaho."

West is one of several celebrities rumored to be participating in Dancing with the Stars seventh season, joining former N'Sync member Lance Bass; Keeping up with the Kardashians starlet Kim Kardashian; soul singer Toni Braxton; Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge star Ty Murray; and former The Brady Bunch matriarch Florence Henderson.

ABC will formally reveal the show's seventh-season cast during Good Morning America's August 25 broadcast.

Dancing with the Stars seventh season will premiere with a special two-hour performance episode on Monday, September 22 at 8PM ET/PT.
