Report: 'Everybody Loves Raymond' spinoff talk heating up
UPI News Service, 09/20/2005
Sources are telling the Hollywood Reporter that Emmy-winner Brad Garrett wasn't kidding when he alluded to a spinoff of "Everybody Loves Raymond."
The sources said talks are heating up at CBS about a spinoff featuring Garrett's character Robert Barone, his wife and in-laws.
Spinoff talk has been swirling for some time, but the source told the Reporter significant progress has actually been made by all parties involved.
"Raymond" creator and executive producer Phil Rosenthal could return with the spinoff along with a number of the "Raymond" writers, the sources said.
"Raymond" took the Emmy for best comedy Sunday and Garrett won his third trophy for best supporting actor in a comedy for his portrayal of Barone.
