U.S. actor Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller, his wife of two years, have parted ways, a source close to the Mueller family exclusively told E! News Friday.

The report comes months after Mueller accused Sheen of assaulting and threatening her, and both husband and wife have spent time in rehab to deal with addiction issues. Sheen also has not yet been able to reach a new agreement with CBS regarding whether he will return to his sitcom "Two and a Half Men," leaving the 7-year-old show's fate in jeopardy.
"Charlie has returned to old habits," the source told E! News. "Brooke has moved out of their family home. Brooke and Charlie still talk, but they don't see each other."
The insider also emphasized the parents of twin toddler sons have not discussed plans to divorce.
Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, said the story was not true, but didn't comment further, E! News said.
