The 24-year-old also known as Inga Marchand appeared at a Manhattan court Monday to begin her trial for misdemeanor assault and attempted assault in an incident last August.
The rapper said she had asked for a manicure and a pedicure as the salon was about to close.
"I got the pedicure, but they didn't give me the manicure," she told reporters.
A brawl broke out when Brown tried to leave and prosecutors allege she kicked and hit a manager before fleeing outside. Then, when employees tried to block her car, it's alleged she slugged one of them with a cell phone.
Brown said she is confident of being exonerated.
"I've overcome adversity my entire life," she said. "I'm trying not to be deterred by any negativity."
