Brown, 26, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was supposed to have a 9:30 a.m. court appearance Monday, but didn't arrive until the afternoon because her flight from Jamaica was delayed by Tropical Storm Ernesto, SOHH.com reported Tuesday.
After the court appearance where she entered a plea of guilty, she came back a short time later to inform Judge Melissa Jackson that she wished to change her plea to not guilty.
"I'm innocent in this case," the foul-mouthed Brooklyn rapper said.
The judge had told Brown she would be sentenced to three years probation at a hearing on Oct. 23, which would require her to report monthly to police, to undergo drug testing, and to attend an anger management course.
After hearing of Brown's request, the judge said her lawyer would have to submit a written motion to withdraw the plea before her next court date.
