Random House launches "official" Seussville.com Dr. Seuss Web site

A Web site intended to make U.S. author Dr. Seuss's books interactive for children and their parents in new ways has gone live, it has been announced.

Seussville.com, the Official Online Home of Dr. Seuss, is a collaboration of Random House Children's Books and Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
The site showcases the books and characters of the beloved, late author Theodor Seuss Geisel, known to readers as Dr. Seuss. Classics like "The Cat in the Hat,""Green Eggs and Ham,""Oh, the Places You'll Go!" and all of Dr. Seuss's other books are featured on the Web site, designed to ignite a child's creative thinking and imagination.
Visitors to the site will find games and information, including a comprehensive character guide, searchable book catalog, an authoritative author section featuring a new biography and galleries of Dr. Seuss's early sketches and artwork, parent and teacher resources, a customizable avatar activity, and more.
"Seussville is the definitive online resource for children of all ages to play with, learn about and explore their favorite Dr. Seuss characters and books, and to discover new ones," Judith Haut, senior vice president of communications and marketing at Random House Children's Books, said in a statement. "Dr. Seuss created over 400 illustrated characters and with Seussville our goal was to bring those characters to life."
