American radio host Delilah has announced via Facebook this weekend the Oct. 3 suicide of her son, Zachariah.
The star did not say how old her son was or how he died.
"My dear friends, I need to share some devastating news with you," she wrote in her post.
"He was being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now. My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on... but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through."
Delilah went on to say she will not be at work or checking in on social media "for a time as I grieve and try to process this loss with my family."
Past episodes of her call-in show will air until she comes back.
"I'll look forward to my return, as you all lift me up so very much!" she said. "Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression."
ETOnline.com said Zachariah is the second of Delilah's 13 children to die in recent years. Her son Sammy died in 2012 from complications from sickle-cell anemia.
