A pair of New York puppeteers said online videos of their work double as clues pointing to the location of $10,000 they buried at a secret location in the city.
The puppeteers, who asked to remain anonymous, said the videos of pirate puppets at welostourgold.com contain clues pointing to the location of the buried treasure, $10,000 in $1 coins, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
"We are absolutely not lying. It's completely true," one of the puppeteers said. "You have to dig it up and pull it out."
The duo said they are hoping publicity surrounding the treasure hunt will raise awareness of their work.
"It's not just about the treasure hunt and the clues," one puppeteer said. "We want people to enjoy the story that was created."
