UPI News Service, 01/05/2005
The Producers Guild of America included Miramax's "The Aviator" and Disney's "The Incredibles" in the list of nominees for its best picture award.
Others on the list are "Finding Neverland," Warner's "Million Dollar Baby" and Fox Searchlight's "Sideways," the Daily Variety reports.
The PGA finalists for the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year kudos are based on voting by the organization's 2,000 members. The event is a closely watched indicator of Oscar sentiment since a significant number of PGA voters are also Academy members, the report said.
On the PGA's TV side, HBO led with six nominations, followed by NBC with five, A&E and CBS with three, ABC with two and Bravo, Comedy Central, Fox, FX, Showtime and WB with one each.
"The Incredibles" has been the biggest box office performer by far among the five nominees with $251 million domestic.
