The paper said the PGA would present its 2005 Visionary Award to the show's producers -- Denis Leary, Peter Tolan, Jim Serpico and Kerry Orent -- at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 22.
The Visionary Award is given to recognize producers and/or a TV show or movie that demonstrate a "unique or uplifting quality." Past recipients have included "Angels in America,""My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "America: A Tribute to Heroes."
"Rescue Me" -- which features Leary in a starring role -- focuses on the lives of New York City firefighters.
The PGA is scheduled to announce the nominees for its 2005 awards on Jan. 5.
