The 23-year-old son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana passed his exams for Army officer training in June and this week aced aptitude interviews with the Regular Commissions Board, the BBC reported Friday.
William will enter Sandhurst next year after he finishes his stint learning the ropes at HSBC's charity services division, Clarence House said.
"I am absolutely delighted to have got over the first hurdle, but I am only too well aware, having spoken so much to Harry, that this is just the beginning," William said. "I am really looking forward to taking my place alongside all the other cadets at Sandhurst."
