The characters of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles were booed by dance fans attending the Manchester premiere of the ballet "Diana, the Princess."

Otherwise, fans at the Palace Theater were noisily appreciative of the interpretation by Danish choreographer Peter Schaufuss and Zara Deakin, who plays the late princess.
Schaufuss, a personal friend of Diana when he was artistic director of the English National Ballet, has promised there will be no cuts to ease royal sensibilities, The Times of London reported Wednesday.
He denied timing the premiere to upstage next month's civil marriage of Charles and Camilla.
"Of course, we planned the show long before the announcement of the royal wedding. It was completely out of one's hands in that way."
Parker Bowles appears as a whip-wielding dominatrix in jodhpurs flaying the prince with her riding crop, while Charles' character is portrayed like Monty Python's John Cleese doing his stiff-legged, "silly walk."
