The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said a New Port Richey resident discovered Jesse Ray Stewart, 18, in his van about 5:30 a.m. Sunday and deputies tracked him using a pink cellphone he had allegedly stolen earlier, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Friday.
Deputies said Stewart was drunk and "uncooperative." They said he used his teeth to rip chunks of vinyl from the patrol car's seat, exposing the stuffing below.
Stewart was charged with resisting arrest, criminal mischief and two counts of auto burglary. He was taken to the Pasco County jail with bail set at $10,300.
