Police in New Jersey said a patdown search of a man with a suspicious limp revealed an 18-inch machete concealed in the leg of his pants.

North Bergen Police Lt. Frank Cannella said Street Crimes Unit officers conducting surveillance near 64th Street and Cottage Place at about 10 p.m. Saturday spotted Leissam Trujillo, 27, pacing and repeatedly adjusting his pants while walking with a slight limp, The Jersey Journal, Jersey City, N.J., reported Tuesday.
Cannella said officers conducted a patdown search and discovered Trujillo was hiding an 18-inch machete in his pant leg.
Trujillo, who is facing charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, was taken to the Hudson County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Cannella said police are familiar with Trujillo and he was arrested under similar circumstances Jan. 12 last year.
