Police working Chicago's busy O'Hare International Airport recovered a wedding ring after the owner reported it lost outside a terminal -- at night.

The ring, worth at least $15,000, fell from the finger of a 36-year-old woman as she was hugging relatives goodbye Friday night, the Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

Chicago Police were contacted after the woman drove away, realizing she no longer had her ring. One officer radioed another officer, who radioed an officer with an all-terrain vehicle who found the ring undamaged, the Tribune reported.

The woman was "elated," said Chicago police officer John Mirabelli.
