Anthony Hebb of Michigan City could face additional charges, the Northwest Indiana Times reports. He is suspected of forgery and of sticking up at least two more Indiana banks.
Lt. David Cincoski of the Chesterton Police Department said that, although Hebb apparently sold the vehicle he used during the two most recent holdups in Michigan City and Chesterton, he had his black cowboy hat and boots with him in his new car.
Hebb allegedly told police that he decided to rob banks because he needed money for both legal and illegal drugs. He said that he still had $3,000 in his home.
Police said that studying bank security tapes and a tip led to the arrest.
