A photographer claims in a new lawsuit that former "Seinfeld" star Michael Richards beat him up in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

The suit says photographer Brendon O'Neal claims Richards, who played "Kramer" on the comedy show, approached him on the street Aug. 25 in a "menacing manner ... with closed fists" before beating him up, the report said.
O'Neal claims he suffered "great mental, physical, and nervous pain and suffering," and is suing for unspecified damages and medical expenses.
TMZ said the suit gave no explanation for the cause of the alleged attack. Calls to Richards' representative were not returned, TZM said.
