Philip Seymour Hoffman lands 'The Hunger Games' role

Philip Seymour Hoffman has joined the cast of "The Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire," The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

The Oscar-winning actor and star of the recent Broadway revival of "Death of a Salesman" will play Plutarch Heavensbee in "Catching Fire," which is set for a November 2013 release, the newspaper said.
Hoffman's film credits include "Twister," "Boogie Nights," "Magnolia," "The Big Lebowski," "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Almost Famous," "Cold Mountain," "Mission: Impossible III," "Capote," "Doubt" and "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead."
