Peter Weber and his mother Barbara Weber are apparently closer than ever one year after the pilot's season of The Bachelor aired on TV.

Peter recently moved out of his parents' California home and into a New York City apartment that he now shares with a roommate, The Bachelorette alum Dustin Kendrick, but Barbara says the distance won't put a strain on her relationship with her son.

"Now it's just my husband and me, we miss him a lot! But I'm so happy that he's having a great time in the big city," Barbara gushed to Us Weekly while promoting her and Peter's partnership with Campo Viejo wine.

Peter, 29, joked that he "lived at home for so long" because Barbara's "cooking was unreal."

After celebrating an early Mother's Day as a family, the Webers -- which include Peter's brother Jack and father Peter Sr. -- also took a trip to Las Vegas before Peter headed back to his new home in the Big Apple.

"We celebrated just bringing back good old memories and cooking in the kitchen and spending quality time with each other, obviously with some good wine," Peter shared. "We did a little Vegas trip after that. We had a good time."

Barbara, best remembered for being emotional and very outspoken about her opinions on The Bachelor finale, fiercely protects her sons and told Us that will never change.

"I will always be there for my sons," Barbara said.

On The Bachelor finale in March 2020, Barbara expressed shock, anger and disappointment when Peter was shown dumping his fiancee Hannah Ann Sluss and trying to reconcile with Madison Prewett, who quit the season during her final date with Peter.

Barbara insisted Peter's top choice, Madison, wasn't right for Peter and their relationship would never work out. Barbara also claimed Madison had been "rude" to her loved ones during filming.

"You saw my personality on that night of the finale. I mean the most important thing in my life is my family," Barbara noted.

Not only did Barbara trash Peter's relationship with Madison on After the Final Rose, but she also refused to apologize to Madison once the show wrapped.

"I've always said this. It doesn't matter how many cameras are there in front of me. It doesn't matter, you know, how many people are around me. And it was packed, that audience is packed. It doesn't matter," Barbara told the magazine.

"I'm very transparent and I will speak the truth and everybody who didn't like it, you know, what I always say, 'They have two problems -- not liking it and getting over it.'"

Peter bragged about how his mother has her own Instagram following now and he appreciates her "no BS" attitude and approach to life.

"It's made me feel really, really good that people that were against what I said that night have come back to me to say, you know, 'I have this problem with my child, can you please help me?'" Barbara explained.

"Or, 'My daughter is doing this,' and they're asking me now for advice. They become friends!"

Barbara was a huge fan of Peter's latest girlfriend, his The Bachelor fifth-place finisher Kelley Flanagan.

Barbara told Life & Style in July 2020 that Peter and Kelley are "very compatible" and she's "the best thing that's ever happened to him," but the pair announced their official breakup in February.

Peter and Kelley, without getting into specifics, said they couldn't overcome their differences and communication problems.

"I'm still looking for the final one to bring home, so I'll give you one more opportunity to say that," Peter joked with his mom, who memorably asked her son to "bring her home to us," referring to Hannah Ann at the end of Season 24.

Barbara is apparently looking forward to the day when Peter finally meets his match and there will be a new member of the family.

"You're not just marrying that person. You're marrying a family. And so that's huge just to have just very similar values and, obviously family values, but yeah, like my mom said, I'm looking for a sweetheart," Peter said.
