Perez Hilton to star in series of 'What Perez Sez' specials for VH1

Internet gossip maven Perez Hilton is getting his own series of U.S. television specials, VH1 announced Tuesday.

"What Perez Sez" is set to premiere on the cable network Sept. 11.

Each special will revolve around a major pop culture event -- like the "2007 MTV Video Music Awards," which will serve as the backdrop for Hilton's debut -- and be jam-packed with one-on-one chats with the stars, red carpet interviews, event recaps and commentary, VH1 said.

"In the world of celeb-reality, Perez Hilton is a new kind of creature: fan, critic, and star all in one," Randy Barbato, the series' executive producer, said in a statement.

"'What Perez Sez' will do for TV what his blog has done for gossip," predicted executive producer Fenton Bailey.

Hilton's blog attracts more than 6 million visitors a day
