British singer Paul McCartney has criticized the critics of his wife Heather Mills McCartney via messages on her official Web site.

He said he wants to "set the record straight" about his wife, a model who has turned into a landmines activist, reported Sky News Saturday.
Since the couple met six years ago, she has been accused of being a "gold-digger, wicked stepmother and publicity seeker," who has pressured McCartney to die his hair and have plastic surgery, according to her sister Fiona Mills.
"It hurts me to see her wounded by these scurrilous reports, and not have anyone to put the record straight," the ex-Beatle wrote.
He denied rumors that his wife, who lost her leg in an accident, did not get along with his children.
However, among the most shocking accusations from his wife's critics was that "losing a leg was perhaps the best thing that ever happened to Heather as it fed her desire for self publicity," McCartney said.
