Oxygen greenlights new 'Tori & Dean: Weddings' reality series pilot

By Christopher Rocchio, 04/06/2010

Oxygen announced it has ordered the pilot for Tori & Dean: Weddings, a new reality series featuring Tori & Dean stars Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott as they help couples plan their dream wedding.

The tentatively-titled reality series will follow the former Beverly Hills 90210 star as she works with the bride-to-be while her husband helps the bridegroom before they bring it all together for the big day.

Oxygen inked a multi-platform development deal with Spelling and McDermott last April, and Tori & Dean: Weddings represents the second reality show pilot the network has ordered as part of it.

Last April, Oxygen ordered the pilot for Mr. & Mrs. Makeover, which would feature Spelling and McDermott giving couples complete makeovers in an effort to make their relationships more meaningful.

Tori & Dean: Weddings is being produced by World of Wonder -- the same production company that produces Tori & Dean -- with Spelling, McDermott and World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato serving as executive producers. The production company was also behind Mr. & Mrs. Makeover.

New episodes of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood currently air Mondays at 10PM ET/PT on Oxygen.
