Australian singer Olivia Newton-John won't speculate on the whereabouts of her missing boyfriend, who disappeared off the California coast three months ago.

Patrick McDermott, 48, was last seen June 30 boarding a fishing boat in San Pedro, Calif. When the boat returned, his belongings were still aboard and his car was in the marina parking lot, but he has not been seen since.

"I go back and forth and I can't talk about it," Newton-John told "Entertainment Tonight." "And it's still under investigation. Speculation is really a dangerous thing, and I'd rather just leave it at that.

"It's really, really painful for me, and really, really personal," she added.

She's coping by meditating, praying and listening to songs she wrote before McDermott's disappearance, she said.

"It's almost ironic that I wrote the songs, it's as if I wrote them for myself," she said.
