An Ohio man has filed a lawsuit seeking damages for virtual harassment in an Internet chatroom.
George Gillespie of Medina is seeking $25,000 in damages from Bob Charpentier and Mike Marlowe, who live in other states, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. His suit, filed in Medina County, also names America Online as a defendant, claiming that the service provider failed to cancel the two men's membership.
Gillespie, in court papers, says that the verbal insults he received were so bad that "no reasonable man could be expected to endure it."
