Odette Annable, a star of the sitcom "Breaking In," has landed a role on the U.S. medical drama "House," TVGuide.com said Tuesday.

Annable is to play a prison doctor Hugh Laurie's character, Dr. Gregory House, meets while he is behind bars and invites to join his staff after he gets out, Deadline.com reported.

Annable's contract allows her time to continue shooting "Breaking In," if Fox decides to renew it for a second season, the report said.

Annable will be the show's only female regular cast member opposite Laurie, Jesse Spencer, Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard and Peter Jacobson, TVGuide.com noted.

Co-star Olivia Wilde will have a smaller role in Season 8 of "House" as she focuses on her film career.
