Filming for the repeatedly delayed fifth season of The Simple Life was anything but simple for co-star Nicole Richie when she was briefly hospitalized for dehydration last Friday, People reported on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was reportedly examined by a doctor on the set of the E! reality series and was taken to a nearby hospital where she was given intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and then released.

"Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening," a representative for Richie told People. "We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health."

While Richie denied allegations last September that she checked into a clinic for eating disorders, she then announced in October she was seeking treatment for what her representative described as "an inability to put on weight."  In late November, the one time 90 pound Richie appeared at the American Music Awards and appeared "much healthier" according to an onlooker.

"She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition," Richie's representative told People. "It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder."

Richie's on-again/off-again friendship with The Simple Life co-star Paris Hilton was rekindled in October, after which E! announced a few days later that  a fifth season of the reality series would begin production in November.  However the original production schedule ended up being postponed by subsequent Richie's treatment announcement and, four months later, the fifth season -- which features the pair working as camp counselors -- is still currently in production.
