Australian actress Nicole Kidman and her husband, singer Keith Urban, are expecting their first child.

Kidman and Urban, who have been married 18 months, broke the news to their families during the Christmas holiday, The Daily Mail reported Saturday in an exclusive.

It will be Kidman's first biological child. Kidman, 40, adopted two children, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 12, during her first marriage to actor Tom Cruise. Kidman reportedly was pregnant twice while married to Cruise but each pregnancy ended prematurely, The Telegraph reported.

Kidman and Urban spent the Christmas holiday in Sydney, after she finished work on Baz Lurhmann's film "Australia," The New York Daily News reported Saturday. Kidman is due to film "The Reader" next month in Berlin with Ralph Fiennes, but has no more film work planned after that.

"I just want to spend as much time as possible with my husband," she told the Daily Mail.
