Nick Nolte's 18-year-old son, Brawley, and an acquaintance have been charged with possession of 2.5 ounces of marijuana in Charleston, W.Va.

A state trooper stopped the car being driven by Aaron Southern, 21, with passenger Nolte early Sunday because of a broken headlight. The trooper reported smelling marijuana in the vehicle and then found the freezer bag with the marijuana
Both were arrested for possession with intent to deliver, which is a felony charge, and taken to South Central Regional Jail in Charleston, W. Va. Both posted $2,500 bond Sunday evening and were released, the Charleston Gazette reported Tuesday.
There was no word on when they would appear in court.
The younger Nolte had roles in the 1996 film "Ransom" and 1997's "Affliction."
