Managers at the TVK network in Krasnoyarsk said newsreader Maria Bukhtuyeva will not be punished after she mistakenly said presidential candidate Mikhail Prokhorov is proposing a referendum on "whether Vladimir Putin should be buried" while on the air, RIA Novosti reported Monday.

The officials said Bukhtuyeva mistakenly said Putin's name instead Vladimir Lenin, whose preserved body has been on display at Moscow's Red Square since his 1924 death. The newscaster apologized later in the broadcast.

The clip of Bukhtuyeva's mistake gathered more than 325,000 views on YouTube during the weekend.
