The Princeton Review issued its annual "College Hopes and Worry Survey," taking data from 4,902 students and parents considering colleges this year. The report is available at princetownreview.com.
A fill-in-the-blank question asked students and their parents was "What school would they like to attend, or have their children attend, if acceptance or costs weren't issues?"
New York University came out on top of the students' responses, followed by Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Brown, Columbia, Duke, Cornell and the University of California-Los Angeles.
After Princeton on the parents' list were Stanford, Harvard, Notre Dame, Duke, Yale, Boston College, Brown, Cornell and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
