NBC is reportedly busy making contingency plans if "Today" show co-host Katie Couric winds up anchoring the CBS "Evening News."

Couric is expected to announce her decision to stay where she has been for 15 years or bolt to the competition within weeks, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
Couric has played her cards close to the vest and refused to comment on her plans, the Journal noted.
Sources said Couric has been offered about $15 million to join the CBS News team anchoring the "Evening News" and contributing to "60 Minutes."
She currently makes more than $16 million at NBC, but the CBS position holds more prestige and hours would be much less grueling, the Journal said.
NBC reportedly is pressuring Couric for a decision before May 15, which is the date the network makes its fall presentation to advertisers.
Among the front-runners to replace Couric if she leaves "Today," is Meredith Vieira, currently on ABC's "The View."
