The first post-writers' strike episode of "Saturday Night Live" was laden with political commentary by the U.S. TV series' cast, it was reported Sunday.

The New York Times reported the "SNL" cast took no prisoners in Saturday night in offering comedic takes on the campaigns of Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., not to mention the media following the ongoing electoral battle.

Offering viewers a satirical take on the recent Clinton-Obama debate, "SNL" focused its jokes on political pundits' perception that the media favors the Illinois senator.

"The three of us are totally in the tank for Sen. Obama," one of the debate's moderators said at the start of the "SNL" skit.

Meanwhile, former cast member and Saturday's guest host Tina Fey offered a plea for increased primary support for Clinton, using colorful profanity to detail the former first lady's qualifications for the White House.

The Times said former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee even got in on the joke, appearing on the NBC program and refusing to leave the stage, a clear mockery of his decision to maintain his pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination, despite most analysts' seeing it as quixotic.
