With NBC's Next Action Star continuing to draw poor ratings at 8PM on Tuesdays while its 9PM lead-out Last Comic Standing has been setting series ratings records, NBC has decided to do some schedule swapping, moving Next Action Star to Wednesdays at 8PM and the Wednesday time period's previously planned Last Comic Standing encore broadcasts to Tuesdays at 8PM.

The end result is that Next Action Star will now air on Wednesdays at 8PM while Last Comic Standing will now air twice on Tuesdays, with a repeat episode of the prior week's episode airing at 8PM and a new original episode airing at 9PM.

We assuming the network's hope is that the encore broadcasts of its prior episodes will serve as a better lead-in for the already well-performing Last Comic Standing, while Next Action Star will now have NBC's venerable Law & Order series as its lead-out -- and after being on the airwaves for well over a decade, the top-rated Law & Order is in a better position to withstand the poor lead-in.

Next Action Star's move to Wednesdays begins immediately -- the fifth episode of the series airs tonight, June 30.
