Natalie Mendoza is leaving "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" after suffering a concussion during a preview of the Broadway musical, The New York Times said.

The departure of the actress who plays the spider villainess Arachne was reported Tuesday. The newspaper said an exit agreement was still being worked out.

Mendoza is one of four cast and crew members hurt during rehearsals or previews of the $65 million production, the opening of which has been delayed several times for financial and technical reasons. It is set to open Feb 7.

Although she returned to the show three days after being hit in the head by a rope holding some equipment, Mendoza took another two weeks off after experiencing nausea and a headache following her performance, which includes flying sequences and being spun upside-down, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Director Julie Taymor's musical features a rock 'n' roll soundtrack by U2's Bono and The Edge.
