A man who likes to sunbathe naked with his dog is unlikely to win his fight to bring the dog to New York state's Fire Island National Seashore.

A federal judge was dubious about Mark DelCore's story that the dog is medically necessary because he -- DelCore, that is -- suffers from a disorder related to the trauma of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the New York Daily News reported. DelCore has sued asking the national seashore to waive its ban on pets for his rat terrier, Cheekies.
"I haven't seen any evidence that would suggest that this dog is trained in some way connected to your medical or physical condition," U.S. Judge Joseph Bianco told DelCore in Central Islip.
DelCore, who also says that the stress of the terrorist attacks caused a skin condition, said that he may drop the lawsuit.
"I have to decide whether the amount of energy I am spending on this makes it worthwhile," he said.
