A mystery illness reportedly caused rockers Aerosmith to cancel the group's Lexington, Ky., concert just two hours before showtime.
The concert was called off about 15 minutes before band was due to land at the local airport Tuesday night, the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader reported Wednesday. The band members reportedly flew home to Boston instead.
The opening band, Cheap Trick, was already at Rupp Arena and some of the 9,000 ticketholders were beginning to arrive when the call came in, the newspaper said.
Rupp Arena officials said they were only told frontman Steven Tyler was ill, but given no further details. The band had canceled its Sunday concert Pensacola, Fla., but promoters said they had been told earlier Tuesday that all systems were go.
