The U.S. cable network MyNetworkTV saw no instant ratings results from launching two telenovelas, "Desire" and "Fashion House," a week ago.

The new shows did slightly better -- in ratings released Thursday -- than the UPN shows they had replaced, Daily Variety reported, but MyNet's potential viewing audience had increased from 50 to 85 percent of the viewing audience.

"Desire" averaged 1.2 million viewers and "Fashion House" had 1.3 million viewers. Both shows' numbers dropped as the week went on, Variety said.

Fox Chief Executive Officer Jack Abernethy said he was not concerned, although he knew advertisers would be paying close attention.

"We never had any expectations on the first week ratings," Abernethy said. "We're not going to obsess over any one week or one night. We're in this for the long haul."
