The paper said the trustees adopted a new policy redefining "spouses" to include same-gender couples married under the laws of any jurisdiction or state -- regardless of which state they reside in, Daily Variety said Friday.
"Our position is that legally married couples are entitled to the same fundamental right of access to healthcare regardless of their sex or the state where they reside," said Mark Weinstein, trustee chairman and executive director of the Pittsburgh Opera.
